Ten Years of Tamar Packaging
Burcombe Haulage would like to wish one of our customers a very happy 10th anniversary for this coming Monday - Tamar Packaging
We've had a great service with them over the years and they were kind enough to tell us a bit about their history and our working relationship:
"Production at Tamar on the Cornwall / Devon border began in the early 1990’s with a number of label presses. In 2003 a purpose-built factory was opened, and a direct food contact packaging line was installed.
We have held BRCGS accreditation for Packaging Materials for over 20 years and supply a wide range of packaging to food manufacturers all over the country, specialising in u cards, base cards, autoblanks, cartons, skillets and sleeves. We have a wide range of stocked raw materials on site suitable for direct and indirect food contact.
Our relationship with Burcombe Haulage began in 2012 when we were looking to change to a more local haulier. In 2014 the label side of the business was sold off to concentrate on the growing packaging demand. Initially we carried out our locally deliveries ourselves with Burcombe managing our national deliveries.
Investment including the purchase of 3 new printing presses and a gluing machine meant that we were beginning to outgrow being able to handle local deliveries ourselves, so a meeting was set up last year with Burcombe to discuss them handling all our pallet deliveries. In the first of 12 months they have handled just over 2,500 pallets on our behalf – a far cry from the 22 during our first year!
The service we get from Burcombe is first class and would have no hesitation in recommending them. As a manufacturer of direct food contact packaging our deliveries are time critical and every last-minute request for an additional collection is never a problem.
Hopefully our relationship with Burcombe we both continue to grow as we enter our second decade together."
